The Campaign Distilled To One Question

Leo Morris has an opinion column in todays Miami Herald that distills the campaign down to the essential question: Will we elect a man that will fight the terrorists before they get here, or a man who is intent on fighting terror as a "law-enforcement problem" by negotiating with terrorist states set to go nuclear?

Iran WILL have a nuclear weapon in a short amount of time if they are not stopped. John Kerry has stated he will negotiate with them, allow them to keep their nuclear facilities and see to it that the "international community" supplies them with nuclear fuel, in exchange for their promise to not develop nuclear weapons. George Bush placed them in the "Axis of Evil", a member of which he has already toppled.

We have lost 4,000 people in the War on Terror, 3,000 on September 11th and over 1,000 in Iraq and Afghanistan. If Iran is allowed to go nuclear we stand to lose 10,000 - 100,000 at one time. The death of each soldier is an individual tragedy. We will lose more before this long war is over, it is what terrorism has wrought.
