Kerry Avoids Vietnam At American Legion

John Kerry spoke to the American Legion in Nashville last night but despite the ongoing and damaging controversy regarding his actions in Vietnam and his activities when he returned, he never mentioned the subject. Many thought he would take the opportunity to apologize for his 1971 statements. He did not. The Swift Boat Veterans for Truth offered to end their campaign against him if he apologized and acknowledged that his statements were false. He did not take their offer.

John Kerry is a weak candidate. He is a weak campaigner. CNN has a report in which Kerry Campaign staffers said that they realized they needed an "adult" to travel with the candidate. What kind of message does that send? Kerry needs a chaperone?
