Statement of CBS News President Andrew Heyward

This is the statement that the country waited all day for, from the President of CBS News:

"We established to our satisfaction that the memos were accurate or we would not have put them on television. There was a great deal of corroborating [sic] evidence from people in a position to know. Having said that, given all the questions about them, we believe we should redouble our efforts to answer those questions, so that's what we are doing."

A nonstatement. What's worse is that Dan Rather has called on President Bush to answer the questions. Questions posed by forged! documents. CBS is no longer a news agency, they have crossed the threshold into a full fledged wing of the Democratic Party.

Dan Rather is set toi interview the 86 year old secretary of Lt. Col. Killian tonight, after she said that Bush was "selected, not elected". That is about as unbiased as Dan Rather gets these days. Truly, truly incredible.
