John Kerry: Liar, Demagogue, Hypocrite

Tough words, but well deserved. Fresh off of his disgusting exploitation of Mary Cheney, the release of the Democratic election day manual calling for the Democrats to invent voter intimidation cases involving minorities, and John Edwards exploitation of the hopes of people with catastrophic injuries, John Kerry is again floating the outrageous lie that George Bush will re-instate the draft if he is re-elected. This is an internet lie started by MoveOn.org and Michael Moore, and is now being used by the Kerry Campaign to scare young voters and their parents into voting against Bush It is despicable. Kerry stated to the Des Moines Iowa Register today:

"With George Bush, the plan for Iraq is more of the same and the great potential of a draft."

Fearmongering to sway voters. Not only is it fearmongering, it is the height of hypocrisy because the only person to call for mandatory service is John Kerry. It was part of his campaign before Kerry supporters began distributing fliers on University campuses and using phone-a-thons to spread the lie. John Kerry subsequently removed the page from his website and picked up the draft rumor. But thanks to the power of the internet, a cache of the page remains, view it here. John Kerry also fails to mention that the only bill proposing a draft was written by two Democrats and defeated by over 400 votes in the House of Representatives.

John Kerry is a liar and a demogogue. He knows that there will be no draft under President Bush but he is willing to push the lie to get votes.

His statements from the last few days are either the actions of a desperate candidate or someone who is unable to grasp reality. Either way they are not the statements of someone fit to be President of the United States.

Update:

Powerline believes that it is the sign of a desperate campaign. Let’s hope they are right.
