Syria Channeled Illicit Arms To Iraq

Claudia Rosett has been at the forefront of exposing the corruption at the United Nations with regard to the oil for food program. The Duelfer Report has proven to be a goldmine of information on this front, providing concrete links between Saddam Hussein's Iraq and foreign governments. Syria, who sat on the security council during some of the most intense debates before the invasion, and one of the most adament advocates for more haggling and debate. It has now come to light that at the same time that the Syrian governments were arguing for more time for Saddam Hussein, they were shipping illicit arms and technologies to Iraq, arms and technologies banned by UN resolutions.

The UN aided in the Syrian smuggling effort by doing nothing to control the Iraq/Syria border and considering the depth of the corruption and the number of UN officials on the take, they had no interest in stopping the crossborder smuggling. The UN is a corrupt organization populated by some of the most corrupt, brutal dictatorships in the world, none of which have the best interests of the United States in mind.

Claudia Rosett has a report on the links between Syria and Iraq and the corruption at the UN that allowed it to happen.
